Seventh-ranked AEK Athens (5-7) made lots of trouble for third ranked PAOK (9-2) in Thessaloniki on Sunday. PAOK managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Apollonas Tsochlas (189-83) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. PAOK's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian guard Carl English (192-81, college: Hawaii) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (203-85, agency: Interperformances) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively. PAOK have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-2 record having just three points less than leader Olympiacos. Newly promoted AEK Athens keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Kolossos and Nea Kifisia. PAOK are looking forward to face Aiolos Trikallon (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AEK Athens will play against KAOD (#13) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
