Regular Season Round 31: Xinjiang FT - Zhejiang CB 123-98

No shocking result in a game in Urumqi where seventh ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (21-10) smashed 15th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (9-22) 123-98 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank managed to win second period 36-31. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank 51-40 including 42 on the defensive glass. Xinjiang Flying Tige looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 29 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Makhan Korambek (196-90) helped adding 21 points. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach Mihalis Kiritsis felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) responded with 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Xinjiang Flying Tige maintains seventh place with 21-10 record. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 22 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet at home higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play against the league's leader Liaoning Hunters (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
