Regular Season Round 31: Fujian QB - Qingdao E. 112-119

Very expected game in Jinjiang where 16th ranked Fujian (8-23) was defeated by third ranked Qingdao Eagles (23-7) 119-112 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 119-112. Qingdao Eagles made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) helped adding 28 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side international Zhelin Wang (215-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds and American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Fujian players scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain third place with 23-7 record having eight points less than leader Liaoning H. Fujian at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 23 games lost. Qingdao Eagles will meet Foshan (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fujian will play against Shanghai Sharks (#12) and hope to secure a win.
