Regular Season Round 16: Tortona - Ravenna 78-73

There was a change at the A2 Silver leadership position after last games. Round 16 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Ravenna (11-5). They were defeated by sixth ranked Tortona (9-7) 78-73 on Sunday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-17. But Ravenna won third quarter 20-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Brazilian Jonathan Tavernari (198-87, college: BYU) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Paolo Rotondo (205-89, agency: Players Group) who added 15 points (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized San Marino Andrea Raschi (198-79) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Ravenna players scored in double figures. Tortona moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ferrara and Recanati. Ravenna at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Treviso Basket. Ravenna will play next round against Latina Basket trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Tortona will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Recanati on the road.
