Regular Season Round 16: Alghero - Milano 46-77

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Milano (6-6) smashed on the road 8th ranked Alghero (1-10) 77-46 on Sunday. The game without a history. Milano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Alghero to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Milano dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Alghero's 34. Milano forced 22 Alghero turnovers. Center Dunia Vujovic (188-87) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Giulia Rossi (170-91) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Milano's coach Franz Pinotti felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Argentinian power forward Erica Sanchez (182-76) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and guard Lucrezia Zanetti (174-97) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Milano maintains fifth position in A2 with 6-6 record. Loser Alghero keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Milano will face league's second-placed San Giovanni in Sesto San Giovanni in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alghero will play at home against Carugate (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
