Regular Season Round 12: Panathinaikos - Olympiakos 80-53

Second ranked Panathinaikos (12-1) crushed at home 9th ranked Olympiakos (2-11) by 27 points 80-53, which is the biggest margin this round. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olympiakos to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Olympiakos 46-33 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Panathinaikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Anastasia Slouka (182-93) contributed with 17 points and 7 assists for the winners. The former international forward Niki Zerva (184-79) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Rafaela Soultani (171-91) added 8 points and 6 assists in the effort for Olympiakos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Proteas and AE Ellinikou. Olympiakos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Panathinaikos' next round opponent will be Anagenisi (#5).
