Regular Season Round 29: Espanola SL - MH Basket 85-64

Top ranked MH Basket (15-5) recorded its fifth loss in San Luis on Monday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Espanola SL (8-13) 85-64. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of MH Basket. The game was mostly controlled by Espanola SL. MH Basket managed to win third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Espanola SL shot 61.1 percent from the field. Espanola SL outrebounded MH Basket 33-11 including a 25-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Jonathan Inman (196, college: Alabama A&M) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Gustavo Acosta (198-89) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Espanola SL players scored in double figures. Espanola SL's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Pablo Fernandez (198-82) produced 20 points and guard Alejo Montes Cardozo (188-91) added 15 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Espanola SL maintains third place with 8-13 record having eight points less than leader Villa Angela. MH Basket at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Espanola SL will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. MH Basket will play on the road against Anzorena in Mendoza and is hoping to win this game.
