The most shocking disappointment of round 13 was a road defeat of 5th ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (6-7) to eighth ranked Ramat Hasharon (5-8) 89-82. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 22-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-89 at the end of the game. Ramat Hasharon made 26-of-27 free shots (96.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Anne Marie Armstrong (191-91, college: Georgia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and swingman Tamara James (178-84, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her ten free throws !!!). At the losing side guard Chelsea Gray (180-92, college: Duke) responded with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Alexis Hornbuckle (180-85, college: Tennessee) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ramat Hasharon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with ASA Jerusalem and Hap.Petah Tikva. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Ramat Hasharon is looking forward to face higher ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Maccabi Ramat Hen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
