Very expected game when 9th ranked Elitzur Holon (2-11) was defeated at home by third ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (9-4) 93-83. The game was mostly controlled by Bnot Hertzeliya. Elitzur Holon was better in fourth quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnot Hertzeliya shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 65.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Elitzur Holon's players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Essence Carson (183-86, college: Rutgers) who helped to win the game recording 31 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Bnot Hertzeliya players scored in double figures. Swingman Sheana Mosch (177-81, college: Duke) answered with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and forward Toccara Ross (183-86, college: Iowa St.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Elitzur Holon. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Bnot Hertzeliya. They maintain third place with 9-4 record having four points less than leader Maccabi Ashdod. Elitzur Holon lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Bnot Hertzeliya's next round opponent will be Ramat Hasharon (#6) at home. Elitzur Holon will play against Hap.Petah Tikva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
