Extraliga top team - Prievidza (21-5) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Nova Ves (9-17) 88-67. The game without a history. Prievidza led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Croatian swingman Marko Batina (197-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Croatian forward Igor Maric (196-85) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Prievidza players scored in double figures. American forward Stan Brown (204-90, college: Lamar) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Montenegrin point guard Goran Bulatovic (186-88) added 9 points and 7 assists in the effort for Nova Ves. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Prievidza have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-5 record, which they share with Inter Bratislava and Rieker KN. Nova Ves at the other side keep the eighth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with B.Bystrica. Prievidza is looking forward to face Rieker KN (#3) in Komarno in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nova Ves will play on the road against SKP Banska Bystrica (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
