Regular Season Round 18: Keflavik - Haukar 90-63

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Keflavik. Second ranked Keflavik faced one of their biggest challengers Haukar. Host Keflavik (13-3) smashed guests from Hafnarfjordur (10-5) 90-63. The game without a history. Keflavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Haukar's 26. Keflavik forced 22 Haukar turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas (175-91, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) who scored 31 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-96) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and Sylvia Run Halfdanardottir (-98) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-3 record having just two points less than leader Snaefell. Haukar at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Grindavik. Keflavik are looking forward to face KR (#6) in Reykjavik in the next round. Haukar will play at home against Grindavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
