Regular Season Round 13: Haukar - Snaefell 77-97

Date: January 15, 2015
There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Snaefell (7-6) crushed 5th ranked Haukar (7-6) in Hafnarfjordur 97-77 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-77. Snaefell looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chris Woods (195-89, college: Pfeiffer) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) contributed with 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Snaefell players scored in double figures. American forward Alex Francis (198-91, college: Bryant, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and guard Emil Barja (192-91) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Haukar. Snaefell moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Haukar. Haukar lost third consecutive game. Snaefell will face bottom-ranked Skallagrimur (#12) in Borgarnes in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Haukar will play on the road against Fjolnir (#10) in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
