Regular Season Round 16: Macae - Bauru 85-93

Very expected game when 11th ranked Macae (7-10) was defeated at home by second ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (14-2) 93-85 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Macae won third quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paschoalotto/Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and international guard Alex Ribeiro (191-80, agency: Interperformances) who added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) responded with 23 points and 6 assists and forward Pedrinho Wellausen (203-95) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Five Macae players scored in double figures. Paschoalotto/Bauru have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 14-2 record behind leader Limeira. Loser Macae keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will face SKY/Basquete (#14) in Aldeota in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Macae will play at home against Paulistano and hope to win that game.
