Regular Season Round 16: Brasilia - Mogi das Cruzes 86-88

Twelfth-ranked Brasilia (5-11) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Mogi (10-6) on Friday. The visitors from Mogi das Cruzes managed to secure only two-point victory 88-86. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 27-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The former international point guard Elinho Corazza (193-89, college: Miami Dade CC) fired 18 points and 8 assists for the winners. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. The former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and center Ronald Reis (211-91) added 18 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mogi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vivo/Franca. Brasilia lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Mogi will meet higher ranked Minas (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brasilia will play against Vivo/Franca (#5) and hope to secure a win.
