Regular Season Round 12: Hottur - FSU 100-86

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Egilsstadir. First ranked Hottur faced second-best FSU. Host Hottur (11-2) defeated guests from Selfoss (8-3) 100-86. FSU was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a good game for American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Forward Hreinn Birgisson (190-89) contributed with 18 points and 5 steals for the winners. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Hottur players scored in double figures. point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) replied with 34 points (!!!) and American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St.) added 20 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for FSU. FSU's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hottur have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-2 record. FSU at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Hottur will play against Breidablik (#6) in Kopavogur in the next round where they are favorite. FSU will play at home against IA (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
