Regular Season Round 18: WKK Wroclaw - Cieszyn 83-65

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked WKK Wroclaw (9-7) won against at home 10th ranked Cieszyn (3-13) 83-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by WKK Wroclaw. Cieszyn was better in second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Cieszyn 54-35 including a 43-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. WKK Wroclaw looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Cieszyn was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Marcin Kolowca (209-87) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Jakub Niziol (198-96) chipped in 23 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Lukasz Ochodek (197-82) with 17 points and center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WKK Wroclaw maintains sixth position with 9-7 record. Cieszyn lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 13 games lost. WKK Wroclaw will face higher ranked Mickiewicz (#5) in Katowice in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cieszyn will play on the road against the league's leader AZS AWF K-ce (#1) in Katowice and hope to win that game.
