Regular Season Round 17: St Vallier - Quimper 86-82

Very expected game when 13th ranked Quimper UJAP (5-11) lost on the road to eighth ranked Saint Vallier (9-6) 86-82 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Quimper UJAP trailed by 19 points after 3 quarters before a 32-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-86 at the end of the game. Saint Vallier made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game, while Quimper UJAP only scored eight points from the stripe. Saint Vallier looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quimper UJAP was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Harry Disy (200-84, college: Louisiana Tech) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Guard Jesse Delhomme (189-85) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Romain Gregoire (200-91) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Mali forward Tahirou Sani (201-85) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Quimper UJAP's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saint Vallier have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Quimper UJAP dropped to the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Saint Vallier will face Mulhouse Basket (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Quimper UJAP will play against Sorgues BC and hope to win that game.
