Regular Season Round 16: Asseco - AZS Koszalin 72-64

The most important game in the last round took place in Gdynia between third ranked AZS Koszalin (12-4) and eighth ranked Asseco (9-7) on Saturday night. AZS Koszalin was defeated by Asseco in a tough game on the road 64-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AZS Koszalin. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists. Lithuanian center Ovidijus Galdikas (217-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Qyntel Woods (202-81, college: N.Mississippi JC) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for AZS Koszalin. AZS Koszalin's coach Igor Milicic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Asseco moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Trefl Sopot. AZS Koszalin at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Slask Wroclaw. Asseco is looking forward to face Anwil (#9) in Wloclawek in the next round. AZS Koszalin will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#15) and is hoping to win this game.
