The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Madrid: CREF Hola (#3) and ASEFA Estudiantes (#8). CREF Hola (9-1) smashed visiting ASEFA Estudiantes (4-6) by 30 points 84-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ASEFA Estudiantes. The game was mostly controlled by CREF Hola. ASEFA Estudiantes managed to win third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CREF Hola forced 23 ASEFA Estudiantes turnovers. Latvian power forward Linda Rubene (189-91, college: Indiana) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Esther Moreno (178-85) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Maria Conde (184-97) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and center Mariana Gonzalez (187-88) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. CREF Hola have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Alcobendas. ASEFA Estudiantes at the other side dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with Andratx. CREF Hola is looking forward to face Almeria (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against the league's leader Alcobendas and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
