Regular Season Round 18: Alba Chorzow - AZS PCz 75-72

There was no surprise when 8th ranked AZS PCz (6-10) was edged on the road by fifth ranked Alba Chorzow (11-6) 75-72 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Guard Lukasz Wojcik (189-84) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) chipped in 7 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Alba Chorzow's coach Rafal Sobecki allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Marcin Bluma (201-89) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and forward Wojciech Kotlewski (195-84) scored 13 points. Four AZS PCz players scored in double figures. Alba Chorzow have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Polonia Bytom. Loser AZS PCz dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Alba Chorzow will have a break next round. AZS PCz will play on the road against Pogon RS (#7) in Ruda Slaska and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
