Ninth-ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (4-10) were very close to win a game against first ranked Oostende (14-1). Oostende managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Basic-Fit Brussels. Basic-Fit Brussels were ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 20-14 charge of Oostende, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 Basic-Fit Brussels turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Polish swingman Mateusz Ponitka (197-93) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Jared Berggren (208-90, college: Wisconsin, agency: Priority Sports) who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Oostende's coach Dario Gjergja allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Julian Gamble (207-89, college: Miami, FL) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import Rion Brown (198-91, college: Miami, FL) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Oostende have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-1 record. Basic-Fit Brussels at the other side keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Oostende will play against Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#5) in Quaregnon in the next round. Basic-Fit Brussels will play at home against Leuven Bears (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
