Regular Season Round 16: GKS Tychy - Stal Ostrow 61-79

Leader Stal Ostrow delivered the twelfth victory. This time they beat 11th ranked GKS Tychy (5-11) 79-61. The game without a history. Stal Ostrow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to GKS Tychy's 16. 27 personal fouls committed by GKS Tychy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by point guard Tomasz Ochonko (183-86) who scored that evening 17 points and center Wojciech Zurawski (202-76) supported him with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Even 14 points by swingman Jakub Garbacz (197-94) did not help to save the game for GKS Tychy. point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) added 8 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stal Ostrow maintains first position with 12-4 record. GKS Tychy lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Stal Ostrow's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked AZS PP (#14) in Poznan which should be an easy win for them. GKS Tychy will play on the road against Pogon Prudnik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
