Regular Season Round 32: Halc.Xalapa - Pioneros 80-76

The most important game in the last round took place in Xalapa between second ranked Pioneros (22-7) and fourth ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (21-6) on Saturday night. Pioneros were defeated by Halcones UV Xalapa in a tough game on the road 76-80. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Pioneros. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 29-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Halcones UV Xalapa made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was international center Adam Parada (213-81, college: Cal-Irvine) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. American-FYR Macedonian forward Kennedy Winston (199-84, college: Alabama, agency: Higher Vision Sports) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. The former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) added 24 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Halcones UV Xalapa maintains fourth position with 21-6 record. Pioneros at the other side keep the second place with seven games lost. Halcones UV Xalapa are looking forward to face Gansos (#12) in Ciudad de Mexico in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pioneros will have a break next round.
