Regular Season Round 32: Panteras - Gansos 106-114 OT

Gansos (9-22) survived in overtime against Panteras (11-18) by eight points 114-106 on Saturday night. The game took place in Aguascalientes. But the guests from Ciudad de Mexico were better at the end. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 25-20 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 8-point victory in overtime. Gansos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Harrison Smith (190-87, college: Texas Southern) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Ivan Silva who added 25 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Five Gansos players scored in double figures. Gansos' coach Luis Andres Garcia used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with 38 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Gansos moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Panteras keep the tenth position with 18 games lost. Gansos will meet at home higher ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Panteras will play against Abejas (#7) in Guanajuato and hope to secure a win.
