A very close game took place in Wloclawek between Anwil and Twarde Pierniki. Ninth ranked Anwil (7-9) got a very close home victory over 11th ranked Twarde Pierniki (5-11). Anwil managed to escape with a 2-point win 78-76 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Twarde Pierniki. Twarde Pierniki was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 19-15 charge of Anwil, which allowed them to win the game. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. The winners were led by naturalized German forward Konrad Wysocki (200-82, college: Princeton) who scored that evening 16 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Chase Simon (198-89, college: Detroit Mercy) supported him with 21 points. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. Even 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by American point guard William Franklin (184-85, college: Bradley, agency: 011 Sports) did not help to save the game for Twarde Pierniki. His fellow American import LaMarshall Corbett (188-88, college: Angelo St.) added 24 points for lost side. Twarde Pierniki's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Anwil maintains ninth position with 7-9 record, which they share with Polfarmex KT. Newly promoted Twarde Pierniki dropped to the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Anwil will meet higher ranked Asseco (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Twarde Pierniki will play against Rosa (#5) in Radom and hope to secure a win.
