Regular Season Round 27: Inter Bratislava - Karlovka 104-66

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Inter Bratislava as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Inter Bratislava smashed 6th ranked Karlovka at home 104-66. The game without a history. Inter Bratislava led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.9 percent from the field. Inter Bratislava forced 19 Karlovka turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Inter Bratislava looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Karlovka's players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Martin Rancik (205-78, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) helped adding 19 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward David Abrham (190-96) with 11 points and 4 assists and center Ivan Zidzik (208-90, college: NW Nazarene) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Prievidza. Newly promoted Karlovka keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. Karlovka will play next round against Nitra trying to get back on the winning streak. Inter Bratislava will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Iskra Svit on the road.
