There was no surprise when 8th ranked Valga Kalev (2-9) was defeated on the road by third ranked TYCO Rapla (10-6) 77-61. The game was mostly controlled by TYCO Rapla. Valga Kalev was better in third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TYCO Rapla dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Valga Kalev's 32. They outrebounded Valga Kalev 42-28 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. TYCO Rapla players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Valga Kalev's players. The winners were led by Croatian center Domagoj Bubalo (212-91) who scored that evening 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93) supported him with 8 points and 7 assists. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by Latvian center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) did not help to save the game for Valga Kalev. Latvian swingman Edgars Krumins (194-86) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four Valga Kalev players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. TYCO Rapla have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-6 record having thirteen points less than leader TU/Rock. Valga Kalev at the other side keeps the eighth place with nine games lost.
