No shocking result in a game in San Sebastian where third ranked Conquero (13-2) defeated 9th ranked Gipuzkoa UPV (5-10) 59-46 on Saturday. The game without a history. Conquero led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American forward Chelsea Davis (188-90, college: Florida St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) who recorded 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Lenita Sanford (190-89, college: UNLV) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Conquero. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Perfumerias. Gipuzkoa UPV lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Conquero will face Zamarat (#8) in Zamora in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gipuzkoa UPV will play on the road against Campus Promete in Logrono and hope to win that game.
