The game between third ranked Den Helder (7-7) and fifth ranked Binnenland (8-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Den Helder was defeated by Binnenland in Den Helder 73-56. They outrebounded Den Helder 43-25 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international guard Zera Butter (179-92) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and American Tae'Lor Purdy (-91, college: Regis Univ., agency: Gamble Sports Management) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Binnenland players scored in double figures. Binnenland's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ashley Ward (180, college: Seattle) responded with 17 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the other American import forward Akil Simpson (183, college: SMU) scored 14 points. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Den Helder at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with CTO. Binnenland are looking forward to face league's second-placed Loon Lions in Landsmeer in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Den Helder will play on the road against Grasshoppers in Katwijk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
