Regular Season Round 16: Fujitsu RW - Aishin AW 83-40
Date: January 17, 2015
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Fujitsu RW as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Fujitsu RW smashed 8th ranked Aishin Wings in Kawasaki 83-40. The game without a history. Fujitsu RW led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fujitsu RW forced 19 Aishin Wings turnovers. The winners were led by international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) supported her with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) did not help to save the game for Aishin Wings. Forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) added 7 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujitsu RW (13-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Aishin Wings at the other side keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Aishin Wings will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Fujitsu RW will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Aishin Wings at Anjo.
