Regular Season Round 14: Baerum Basket - Ammerud Bskt 84-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Ammerud Bskt's (5-8) road loss to fourth ranked Baerum Basket (8-4) 80-84 on Sunday. Ammerud Bskt trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 32-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 80-84 at the end of the game. Baerum Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Baerum Basket made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Flavien Davis (196-92, college: Montana St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. Four Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. American forward Ronald Timus (196-84, college: Morgan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Mookie Rivelino (194-84, college: Quincy) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Baerum Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Asker Aliens. Ammerud Bskt lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Baerum Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ammerud Bskt will play against the league's second-placed Gimle BBK (#2) and hope to secure a win.
