Regular Season Round 14: Gimle BBK - Tromso 80-88

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Gimle BBK (9-3) in Bergen on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Tromso (10-4) 88-80. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 9-4 record before this meeting. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 48-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Tromso outrebounded Gimle BBK 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. American power forward Reggie Fuller (199-86, college: Binghamton) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Keon Lawrence (187-87, college: Seton Hall) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Joshua Hart (198-90, college: Va Intermont) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian center Igor Sedlar (213-84) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tromso have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Gimle BBK dropped to the second place with three games lost. Tromso are looking forward to face Nidaros Jets (#7) in Tromdheim in the next round where they are favorite. Gimle BBK will play on the road against Ammerud Bskt (#5) in Oslo and is hoping to win this game.
