Regular Season Round 16: Wilki Morskie - Slask Wroclaw 68-86

Date: January 18, 2015
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Slask (12-4) beat 13th ranked Wilki Morskie (4-12) in Szczecin 86-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Slask. Wilki Morskie was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Slask made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for Serbian center Aleksandar Mladenovic (207-84, agency: BeoExcell) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) contributed with 10 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Slask players scored in double figures. Slask's coach Emil Rajkovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Ukrainian Vitaliy Kovalenko (203-84) replied with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Wilki Morskie. Slask moved-up to third place, which they share with AZS Koszalin. Newly promoted Wilki Morskie keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Slask will face Trefl (#8) in Sopot in the next round where they are favorite. Wilki Morskie will play on the road against AZS Koszalin (#4) and hope to win that game.
