Regular Season Round 17: Chieti - Matera 75-79

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Matera (6-11) defeated on the road higher ranked Chieti (8-9) 79-75 on Sunday. Chieti was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 25-13 charge of Matera, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Josh Greene (183-92, college: CS Northridge) who scored 27 points. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (197-82) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: Two Points) produced 26 points and 6 rebounds and center Andrea Ancellotti (212-88) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Chieti players scored in double figures. Matera moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Latina Basket and Roseto. Loser Chieti keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Matera will face higher ranked Treviglio (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
