Regular Season Round 14: UCC Demons - Belfast Star 109-80

Premier League top team - UCC Demons (12-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Belfast Star (3-8) in Cork 109-80. UCC Demons dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Belfast Star's 46. UCC Demons forced 20 Belfast Star turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. UCC Demons brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international forward Colin O'Reilly (200-84, college: Post) notched 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American forward Lehmon Colbert (198-88, college: Jacksonville) supported him with 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Even 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Ricky Taylor (195-89, college: Chattanooga) did not help to save the game for Belfast Star. Forward Keelan Cairns (208, college: Pennsylvania) added 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UCC Demons have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Belfast Star at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. UCC Demons will play against league's second-placed Killester in Dublin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Belfast Star will play on the road against UCD Marian (#5) in Dublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
