The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (24-4) in Mikawa on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-8) 89-84. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Hamamatsu Phoenix. Hamamatsu Phoenix was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) replied with 32 points and American forward Mo Charlo (203-83, college: Nevada) added 22 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hamamatsu Phoenix. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shiga L-Stars maintains fourth position with 18-8 record. Hamamatsu Phoenix at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They share the position with Okinawa GK. Shiga L-Stars are looking forward to face league's second-placed Okinawa GK at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against Oita Heat Devils and is hoping to win this game.
