Regular Season Round 17: Iberostar Tener. - UCAM Murcia 78-72

An interesting game took place in Tenerife where 9th ranked UCAM Murcia (8-9) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked CB Canarias (7-10) 78-72. It looked good early as UCAM Murcia took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CB Canarias had a 24-18 second period charge getting the lead and UCAM Murcia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-78. CB Canarias forced 21 UCAM Murcia turnovers. Argentinian-Italian point guard Nicolas Richotti (183-86) nailed 13 points for the winning side and point guard Rodrigo San Miguel (186-85) accounted for 9 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Jose Angel Antelo (206-87) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Brazilian point guard Raul Neto (185-92) added 12 points respectively for UCAM Murcia in the defeat. Four UCAM Murcia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CB Canarias maintains twelfth place with 7-10 record. UCAM Murcia at the other side keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Rio Natura Mnb. and Laboral Kutxa. CB Canarias will play against bottom-ranked Sevilla (#18) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. UCAM Murcia will play against Valencia Basket (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
