Regular Season Round 17: Avila - Opentach Pla 60-62

A very close game took place in Avila between Opentach Pla and Fontedoso Carrefour. Fourteenth ranked Opentach Pla (3-13) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (9-8). Opentach Pla managed to escape with a 2-point win 62-60 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Fontedoso Carrefour was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American forward Mike Duty (198-87, college: W.Washington) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Juan Ballesta (181-92) scored 7 points and 7 assists. Newly promoted Opentach Pla maintains fourteenth place with 3-13 record. Loser Fontedoso Carrefour keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Opentach Pla will meet at home higher ranked FC Barcelona II (#13) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fontedoso Carrefour will play against CB Tarragona 2017 (#12) and hope to secure a win.
