Regular Season Round 11: Gimle - BC Asker 72-37

The game between second ranked Gimle (9-3) and 5th ranked BC Asker (5-5) in Bergen on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Gimle outscored guests from Rykkinn 72-37. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Asker. The game without a history. Gimle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Asker to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Gimle held BC Asker to an opponent 18.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Gimle forced 21 BC Asker turnovers. American point guard Bianca Simmons (168-91, college: Mass.-Lowell) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (169-92) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Coach Brent Hackman's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Ingrid Selvik (175-92) answered with 7 points and 12 rebounds and forward Siri Granheim (178-94) added 4 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for BC Asker. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Gimle. They maintain second place with 9-3 record having just -2 point less than leader Ullern. Loser BC Asker keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Gimle will face bottom-ranked Hoybraten (#7) in Oslo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. BC Asker will play at home against Ulriken and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
