There was no surprise in Malmo where KFUM Uppsala (2-3) was defeated by Malbas (4-1) 78-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 22-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Malbas shot 24 for 33 from the free-throw line, while KFUM Uppsala only scored seven points from the stripe. Malbas forced 20 KFUM Uppsala turnovers and outrebounded them 34-21 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Niklas Sellin (197-91) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Stefan Nguyen (190-92) chipped in 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Malbas players scored in double figures. Guard Anes Zekovic (-95) produced 18 points and 4 steals and forward Oliver Ehrnvall (197-96) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Malbas will face Trelleborg (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. KFUM Uppsala will play against Alvik Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
