There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Ciclista (5-18) was smashed on the road by ninth ranked Libertad Sunchales (9-17) 110-78 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Libertad Sunchales. Ciclista was better in fourth quarter 32-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Libertad Sunchales made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Ciclista turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Quite impressive performance for forward Mariano Fierro (200-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized American Jonatan Slider (188-87) contributed with 19 points and 5 steals for the winners. Center Kevin Hernandez (204-91) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Spanish point guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-90) added 14 points in the effort for Ciclista. Five Libertad Sunchales and four Ciclista players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Libertad Sunchales maintains ninth place with 9-17 record which they share with defeated Ciclista. Ciclista lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 18 games lost. Libertad Sunchales will have a break next round.
