Regular Season Round 16: Denain - Angers BC 97-62

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Denain Voltaire (11-5) rolled over at home bottom-ranked Angers BC (2-14) 97-62 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Denain Voltaire led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for center Jerry Boutsiele (207-92) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Naturalized Ghanian Billy Ouattara (191-92) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American forward Gregg Thondique (202-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Pierre Pierce (193-83, college: Iowa) added 15 points in the effort for Angers BC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Denain Voltaire moved-up to fourth place. Angers BC lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Denain Voltaire will face league's leader Hyeres-Toulon on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Angers BC will play against Olympique Antibes (#7) and hope to win that game.
