Regular Season Round 16: Pinheiros/Sky - Limeira 61-73

NBB top team - Winner/Limeira (15-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Pinheiros (7-8) in Sao Paolo 73-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pinheiros. The game was mostly controlled by Winner/Limeira. Pinheiros was better in fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by the former international power forward de Souza Ferreira (208-88) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Five Winner/Limeira players scored in double figures. Even 12 points by American guard Jason Smith (183-83, college: Al.-Huntsville) did not help to save the game for Pinheiros. point guard Jefferson Campos (191-91) added 8 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Pinheiros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Winner/Limeira have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Winner/Limeira will play against Palmeiras (#9) in Sao Paulo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pinheiros will play at home against Rio Claro and hopes to get back on the winning track.
