Regular Season Round 14: Tindastoll - KR 81-78

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of KR (13-1) in Sauoarkrokur on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Tindastoll (11-3) 81-78. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of KR. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KR won fourth quarter 30-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tindastoll forced 22 KR turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Myron Dempsey (203-91, college: Paul Quinn) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the former international Helgi Magnusson (197-82, college: Catawba) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four KR players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Tindastoll maintains second position with 11-3 record having just two points less than leader KR. Defending champion KR still keeps top place with one game lost. Tindastoll are looking forward to face Njardvik (#5) in Njardvik in the next round. KR will play at home against Keflavik (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
