Regular Season Round 15: Alvik Basket - Solna Vikings 68-66

Twelfth-ranked Solna Vikings (2-13) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Alvik Basket (8-6) in Stockholm. Alvik Basket managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-14 Solna Vikings' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 68-66 at the end of the game. Alvik Basket forced 21 Solna Vikings turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American center Shawnice Wilson (198-90, college: Miami, FL, agency: Merit Management Group) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Klara Lundquist (176-96) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American guard Ieasia Walker (173, college: S.Carolina, agency: Merit Management Group) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Kelli Riles (186-90, college: NC-Asheville) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Solna Vikings in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Alvik Basket maintains fourth place with 8-6 record, which they share with Norrkoping. Solna Vikings at the other side stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Alvik Basket's next round opponent will be league's leader Umea at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Solna Vikings will play against the league's second-placed Northland (#2) in Lulea and hope to win that game.
