Regular Season Round 13: FSU - IA 102-59

Date: January 22, 2015
An interesting game for FSU (9-3) which hosted in Selfoss 4th placed IA (6-5). Second ranked FSU had an easy win 102-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of IA. The game was mostly controlled by FSU. IA managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded IA 59-32 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. FSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by IA's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Erlendur Stefansson (167-95) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four FSU players scored in double figures. FSU's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Jamarco Warren (180-88, college: Charleston So.) answered with 32 points and point guard Askell Jonsson (188-86) added 12 points in the effort for IA. FSU maintains second place with 9-3 record having seven points less than leader Hottur. IA at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. FSU are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Thor AK (#8) in Akureyri in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. IA will play at home against the league's leader Hottur (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
