Regular Season Round 12: Ammerud - Gimle 58-73

Very significant was Gimle's (#2, 11-3) victory against 4th ranked Ammerud (6-5) 73-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ammerud. The game without a history. Gimle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Gimle forced 21 Ammerud turnovers. The winners were led by American point guard Bianca Simmons (168-91, college: Mass.-Lowell) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin forward Biljana Pavicevic (191-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) supported her with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Gimle's coach Brent Hackman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by guard Anneli Widen (174-84) did not help to save the game for Ammerud. The former international center Tina Nesse (183-84) added 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ammerud players scored in double figures. Gimle (11-3) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position having just -2 point less than leader Ullern. Ammerud at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Gimle will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ammerud will play on the road against BC Asker (#5) in Rykkinn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
