Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Olympique Antibes (11-6) outscored at home bottom-ranked Angers BC (2-15) 84-58 on Friday. The game without a history. Olympique Antibes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Angers BC's 26. They outrebounded Angers BC 39-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Timothe Luwawu (197-95) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Olympique Antibes players scored in double figures. Olympique Antibes' coach Julien Espinosa felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Gregg Thondique (202-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Pierre Pierce (193-83, college: Iowa) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Olympique Antibes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Denain and Orchy. Angers BC lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Olympique Antibes will meet at home Poitiers (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Angers BC will play against Lille Metropole (#14) and hope to secure a win.
