Regular Season Round 34: Liaoning H. - Beijing Ducks 120-96

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Yingkou. First ranked Liaoning Hunters faced 4th ranked Beijing Ducks. Host Liaoning Hunters (30-4) smashed guests from Beijing (25-9) 120-96. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. The game without a history. Liaoning Hunters led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing Ducks' 48 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Liaoning Hunters looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Beijing Ducks' players. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) fired 27 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The other American import forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. Four Liaoning Hunters players scored in double figures. American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) produced 31 points and 4 assists and forward Gen Li (196-88) added 26 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Liaoning Hunters went down to second position due to points difference. Defending champion Beijing Ducks keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Liaoning Hunters are looking forward to face Jilin Tigers (#6) in Changchun in the next round. Beijing Ducks will play on the road against TianJin Steel in Tianjin and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
