Regular Season Round 34: Jiangsu D. - Bayi R. 106-101

Very expected game in Nanjing where 18th ranked Bayi Rockets (6-28) were defeated by fourteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (11-23) 106-101 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bayi Rockets won third quarter 36-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Jiangsu Dragons won last quarter 24-21. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international point guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) chipped in 25 points and 5 assists. Forward Yuchen Zou (197-96) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and the former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Jiangsu Dragons and five Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Bayi Rockets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jiangsu Dragons maintains fourteenth position with 11-23 record. Bayi Rockets lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth place with 28 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#15) in Hangzhou in the next round. Bayi Rockets will play at home against DongGuan Leopards and hope to win that game.
